DENVER BRONCOS

The second overall pick of the 2011 draft. The first play of Von’s NFL career he caused a fumble. Von was named AFC defensive player of the week after his performance vs. the Jets. Von was selected to the 2012 Pro Bowl, and was named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year compiling 11.5 sacks, 19 QB hits, and 29 QB hurries. In 2012 Von expanded on his dominating rookie year, breaking the Broncos team record for sacks at 18.5, forced 6 fumbles, and finished 2nd in voting for Defensive Player of the Year. He was named 1st team All Pro, and was named November’s AFC Defensive player of the month. In Von’s 3rd season the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl, unfortunately, Von went down in December with a torn ACL playing vs Texans. In 2014, Von returned to dominance, notching 14 sacks even in the face of constant double teams.

TEXAS A & M

As a freshman Von lined up at defensive end, and was named to the Freshman All Big 12 team, compiling 22 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble. In Von’s sophomore year he moved to weak side linebacker, producing 44 tackles, a team leading 3.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. In his junior year, Von evolved to the “jack” position, a defensive end/linebacker hybrid. This led to his best output, leading the nation with 17 sacks, 21 tackles for a loss. He was named to the first team All Big12, and became the first Aggie since 1999 to be named 1st team All American.

His senior season, under the tutelage of his 3rd defensive coordinator, Von was moved to a 3-4 outside linebacker. Missing the first six games due to a high ankle sprain, Von still managed to put up impressive stats, and collect additional honors. Amassing 10.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for a loss. He was again named to the first team All Big12, won the Butkus award (nations best LB), and was named a consensus first team All American.
